Our Vision

Divorce rates soar across North America, tearing apart the lives of thousands of people every year. Sadly, the highest rates of divorce are found in couples only four years into a marriage! Imagine the impact that proper preparation for marriage could have on these couples who hit a rough patch and don't know where to turn.

As we spend hours every day pouring over gorgeous weddings with every detail strategically thought out down to the napkin colour, and as we help engaged couples put together their dream weddings, we've realized that more time and money is spent preparing for the wedding day than the actual marriage. This is where the idea of Learn Love was born.

Our History

In 2009, we/McCorrister Media founded a not-for-profit organization focused on helping strengthen marriages and bringing attention to staggering divorce rates. The aim of Learn Love is to help couples before their marriage is in trouble, by getting them to think now about the things they can do to avoid becoming a marital statistic.

Last year we were excited to raise approximately $10,000 for Learn Love through an online auction planned alongside The Grand Wedding Showcase. The results were so encouraging, and we were able to use that money to fully fund the launch of Learn Love, including all of the legal fees, and fees for incorporating and working at achieving charitable status. We were also able to put together our website, logo, and other needed materials, and began working on articles and marriage preparation material.

We are excited to continue to build Learn Love and launch many more endeavors through this organization that will help to continue to bring awareness to couples, and help them avoid the many common mistakes that lead to divorce. We have many plans that we are excited about, and we are ready to move forward with them.

GWS 2010

The Grand Wedding Showcase is a great place for us to reach engaged couples with material they can begin to use in their relationship now, that will strengthen them and get them thinking about avoiding pitfalls that lead to divorce.

GWS 2010 is also a great place for us to raise the funds needed to continue Learn Love, so we can accomplish our goals and plans. This year we will be raising money for the foundation through ticket sales, as 15% of ticket sales will go towards Learn Love.
