From Start to Finish: Melissa and Dale

So we're onto invitations! I have to say it's pretty exciting for me. For some reason, invitations make me feel like we are finally in the home stretch, like now our wedding is just around the corner! Really it's still 7 months away, but Dale and I have been engaged since October 2011, so it feels now like we are so close because we have made all the necessary decisions to actually be able to make invitations!

We decided that we wanted to have our invitations ready fairly early, as most of Dale's family is from overseas. Of course they all know about our upcoming wedding, but we want to make sure that they receive invitations before they need to start making travel arrangements so that they have all the necessary info.

We have been working with the amazing team at Join Design. We met them for coffee over the holidays to go over the details and talk through what we had in mind for our invitations. And we didn't exactly give them an easy starting point... :) We actually asked for invitations that are super modern, but also respectfully traditional, which you might think is impossible, but apparently it's not - we received the first draft of our invitations this weekend and they nailed it! We absolutely love them and the design is perfect! They incorporated our colors and our style, and somehow they managed to turn the crazy list of requests we gave them into amazing invitations!

The next step is to choose the perfect paper to have our invitations printed on, and then I guess I'll be planning an Envelope Stuffing Party and inviting my bridesmaids. ;)
